Many of the early USA Camel Zippos were issued through the Camel Cash Catalogs and could only be bought using the C-notes found on the backs of packs of camel cigarettes. This changed with the appearance of the camel company catalogs in which branded merchandise was placed on sale for real dollars.

For the most complete listing of all the Camel Zippos issued over the years by R.J.Reynolds Click on this email link to contact (Known on Ebay as "Camelmanlen"). He took over the task from Brian Sipes, the author of the original guides. The guides are knowledgeable and full of interesting facts concerning the production history of each zippo. They contain interesting details concerning where and how they were marketed. Over the years a lot of the information has been culled from the people who made them in the zippo works at Bradford. Many zippos were sold exclusively at the the R.J.Reynolds store and the people there have also provided a rich array of additional camel zippo lore that is included in the guides. A must for every serious collector of camel zippos.
"Camel Catalog 1996 Holiday Edition"
Advertisement copy for cz121 that appeared in the camel catalog. The same catalog featured "Big Joe's Zippo", the "Pop Art Zippo", the "Art Deco Zippo" and the first "Red Kamel Zippos" amongst the fifteen individual zippos that were made available through this catalog. In addition there was a set of fifteen pool themed zippos numbered from one to fifteen displayed in a wooden triangular rack.
